Highly textured and colorful, this simple scarf is sure to be a favorite. Use 5 distinct colors to create a unique wear-everywhere cowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Techniques: Long-tail CO, stretchy BO, K, P, st st, K2tog, YO, box stitch (Rnds 1 and 2: *K2, P2; repeat from * to end.&nbsp; Rnds 3 and 4: *P2, K2; repeat from * to end); repeat rnds 1-4 for box stitch in the round.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Terminology: BOR &#8211; beginning of round. CO &#8211; cast on. BO &#8211; bind off. PM &#8211; place marker. YO &#8211; yarn over. K2tog &#8211; knit two stitches together. St st &#8211; stockinette stitch (knit every stitch).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supplies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yarn &#8211; 170 yards \/ 100 grams of DK or Worsted weight yarn; 5 colors total, 20-25 grams per color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Needles &#8211; US 6 (4mm) circular needles, 24 in or size needed based on yarn weight and desired scarf length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tapestry\/yarn needle for weaving in ends<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gauge is not critical for this pattern. Color changes occur at the beginning of each new box stitch section; leave 6 inches between color changes to weave in later. This scarf is a great mini-skein stash buster as it uses five 20-25g skeins total.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CO 112 stitches using the long-tail CO.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Join in the round, being careful not to twist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Place marker for BOR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rows 1-2: st st (knit every stitch).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Row 3-4: *K2, P2; repeat from * ending on a P2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Row 5-6: *P2, K2; repeat from * ending on a K2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rows 7-10: Repeat rows 3-6.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Row 11: *YO, k2tog; repeat from * around.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Row 12: Purl every stitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Switch to color B.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Repeat rows 3-12 until desired width is achieved.
